1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by the websites you visit. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember preferences, and to provide information to operators about how the site is used.
2. Cookies and similar technologies we use
varovet.com uses two categories of storage. Necessary storage is always active; everything else only loads after you accept the consent banner.
Necessary (always active)
- varovet_consent — records whether you accepted or declined optional cookies. Stored in your browser's localStorage. Retention: until you clear browser data.
Analytics and advertising (consent required)
| Provider | Purpose | Cookies | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Meta Pixel) | Measure ad performance; build audiences for retargeting on Facebook/Instagram | _fbp, fr | Up to 90 days |
| Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Ads) | Measure conversions from Google Ads campaigns | _gcl_*, NID | Up to 90 days |
3. Managing your choices
- You can change your decision at any time by clearing the
varovet_consentitem in your browser's localStorage; the banner will reappear on your next visit. - You can also opt out at the device or browser level: most browsers let you block third-party cookies in settings.
- Browser-extension tools such as the Privacy Badger or your browser's Do Not Track setting will further restrict tracking.
4. Legal basis
Necessary cookies are placed on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). All other cookies are placed only with your prior consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR + the Latvian implementation of the ePrivacy Directive).
5. Changes
We may update this policy as our use of cookies evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
